Overview

IDC is seeking a strategic and results-driven Director, Product Marketing.  The Director of Product Marketing will join our North American team to help  expand our product portfolio.  This position is responsible for owning a full spectrum of product marketing strategies for a new data product that serves the critical needs of sales and marketing teams.

Responsibilities

Key areas of responsibility for this role include:

  • Develop and articulate compelling product positioning and messaging that resonates with target audiences.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent and effective communication of product value propositions.
  • Lead the development and execution of comprehensive go-to-market strategies for the identified audiences.
  • Work with the demand generation team to create integrated marketing campaigns that generate leads and drive product adoption in accordance with defined KPIs.
  • Conduct market research to understand industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to refine marketing strategies and product positioning.
  • Oversee the creation of high-quality marketing and sales enablement collateral, including product datasheets, whitepapers, videos, case studies, and presentations.
  • Provide sales teams with the tools and resources needed to effectively sell and promote products.
  • Develop training materials and support product training sessions to ensure a deep understanding of product features and benefits.
  • Collaborate closely with product stakeholders, sales, and other departments to drive alignment on marketing strategies and initiatives.
  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly report to stakeholders.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on data to optimize marketing efforts and achieve business objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years in product marketing with at least 5 of those years spent in the technology industry.
  • Prior experience with B2B product launches. Experience marketing to sales and marketing personas preferred.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong PPT skills required.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to influence cross-functional teams with demonstrable examples of success in driving marketing and sales alignment.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on driving business impact.

 

This role is located in our Toronto Office, with a hybrid work schedule or may work remote from Ontario, BC, Alberta or Nova Scotia.
