Overview

IDC is seeking a talented and experienced Director, Demand Generation who will be responsible for the strategy and execution of marketing programs that capture and nurture marketing leads across multiple channels for our tech supplier product portfolio within North America.

 

The Director will lead a team of demand gen marketers to execute a cross-functional marketing plan that increases influence, demand gen, and customer growth. These programs will include outreach to our existing database through marketing automation; lead generation through social media and search engine marketing; and optimizing the use of our own website as a lead generation channel.  This position also works directly with sales and customer success teams to increase customer advocacy by identifying cross-sell and up-sell opportunities while increasing loyalty and retention.

The ideal candidate for this role will be extremely organized and motivated, with a strong track record of driving B2B leads. The Director will report directly to Sr. Director, Demand Generation, North America, and requires extensive collaboration with North American and global marketing teams, product owners, and other key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Day to day management of North America marketers focused on supporting our tech supplier portfolio awareness and demand generation activities
  • Work closely with product marketing, product leaders and business owners to build external positioning and campaigns for our Research and Data & Analytics subscription product portfolio
  • Help marketing and sales meet business objectives through customer advocacy initiatives to increase renewals, referrals, and cross-sell and upsell opportunities
  • Improve the efficiency and effectiveness of marketing campaigns to better nurture and increase conversion rates to marketing qualified leads
  • Develop and manage integrated paid and organic programs that significantly increase the marketing database and overall MQL pipeline
  • Improve operational processes and reporting related to demand generation programs to measure effectiveness towards KPIs
  • Manage an account-based marketing strategy across product lines for high priority accounts
  • Analyze campaign outcomes in detail, drawing insights and presenting results clearly to facilitate sound decision making and next steps

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Marketing, Communications, or other related degree; or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of experience in B2B demand generation in the tech industry
  • 3+ years of previous management experience
  • Proficiency in developing, executing, and measuring innovative and results-focused demand programs and campaigns
  • Demonstrated analytical ability, specifically around program measurement and ROI, and program execution skills
  • Experience influencing and communicating product offers to customers and prospects through excellent written communication skills (including copywriting and proofreading)
  • Strong project management skills and experience with superb attention to detail
  • Self-manages and motivated with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines and priorities
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with strong relationship building skills
  • Experience with marketing automation required (Marketo preferred)
  • Experience with SEO and Google AdWords required

This role is located in our Toronto Office, with a hybrid work schedule or may work remote from Ontario, BC, Alberta or Nova Scotia.
