Overview

IDC is seeking a Sr Research Analyst in our Future of Work market research and advisory practice.  Recognizing the key technical, policy, and organizational changes needed to navigate hybrid work environments is a key challenge for both technology buyers and the technical and service vendors who serve them.  This analyst will focus on best practices, trends, market conditions, business concerns and offerings and provide authoritative advice for IDC clients.

 

The ideal candidate will be in the Greater Toronto Area and will be required to come to IDC's Toronto office 1 day per week (hybrid).

We will also consider qualified remote candidates outside the Greater Toronto Area.

 

This is a full-time (37.5 hours a week) temporary role for 13 months, covering a leave of absence. 

Pay range is CAD$30.00 - $40.00 an hour.

Responsibilities

  • Support planning and execution of a compelling research agenda that offers both quantitative and qualitative components
  • Collaborate across technical, geographic, industry and service teams to share information and positioning on Future of Work
  • Become subject matter expert both within and external to IDC who will be tapped to support custom engagements in addition to contributing to a published research agenda
  • Deliver virtual presentations at client events, conferences and in smaller meetings
  • Actively participate in IDC's Future of Work community and research council
  • Contribute to engagement, support of client requests and regular outreach

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree is required; Equivalent years of relevant industry experience may be considered and evaluated for a candidate with strong qualifications
  • 4+ years (or equivalent) of pertinent technology industry experience as an industry analyst, product manager, journalist, or other related roles such market researcher
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint) including data literacy, survey development, data analysis and presentation
  • Experience authoring and interpreting buyer perception surveys for actionable insights
  • Excellent public speaking and good interpersonal communications skills
  • Proven record of multi-tasking, with a demonstrated ability to work under pressure with competing deadlines
  • This role is located in our Toronto Office, with a hybrid work schedule (1 day in office) or may work remote from Ontario, BC, Alberta or Nova Scotia.
